I have had extensions for about 5 years and have never had my natural colour, I always get it dyed and then have the extensions put in once it's been blow dried. Plus, if the colour isn't 100% matched then it's not that big a deal once the extensions are in, they tend to blend well and look like highlights if the colour isn't exactly the same.
