How can I put my hair extensions into a high ponytail or bun?

I wear clip-in hair extensions and am going to a pool party in a couple of weeks. I really don't want to get my hair wet, so I want to put it in a bun on top of my head. My hair is braided in the back so I can't wrap an extension around my hair. I just need to figure out a way to get my hair up on top of my head without my braids showing in the back. Any advice?
